Cyclist fatally struck by semi in Jacksonville Beach
JACKSONVILLE BEACH, FL – A male cyclist who was originally in critical condition passed away following a collision with a semi-truck on Thursday.
This crash occurred before 6 p.m. at the intersection of Boulevard Street & West 12th Street, according to First Coast News. Upon arrival, officials transported the biker to Memorial Hospital, where he succumbed to fatal wounds.
Jacksonville Beach Police have identified the cyclist as Steven E Parris, and confirmed the semi-truck driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Officers have not confirmed the contributing factors behind this crash.
