Deputy, several prisoners sent to hospital after Pompano Beach crash
POMPANO BEACH, FL – A collision between a van and two transport prisoner vehicles sent a deputy and several other prisoners to a hospital Tuesday morning.
This crash occurred around 5:30 a.m. at the West Atlantic Boulevard and North Andrews Avenue junction, according to CBS News. The two transport vehicles were a van, which held seven prisoners, and a bus with 45 prisoners.
Officials said seven prisoners were sent to a local hospital as a precaution, although authorities did not confirm if they were injured and specify if they came from the transport van or bus. The deputy sustained non-life-threatening wounds and is expected to recover.
