Distracted driving causes crash that injures teen in Winter Haven
WINTER HAVEN, FL – A 60-year-old woman operating a Toyota Rav4 became distracted by an unspecified loud noise, causing her to go off the road and hitting and injuring a teenager.
This collision occurred before 12:45 p.m. last Wednesday off Avenue B Southeast, WFLA said.
As the woman was getting closer to 6th Street Southwest, that’s when she heard that strange sound and then hit the teenage girl sitting on a curb.
Florida Highway Patrol said first responders took the teenage girl to a hospital but did not specify what kind of wounds she sustained or provide an update on her physical condition.
The 60-year-old woman was spared from harm.
