Driver crashes into Lakeland home, fatally hits 24-year-old man
LAKELAND, FL – A driver failed to stop at a Lakeland intersection, leading him to crash into two signs and fatally hit a 24-year-old man Monday.
According to ABC Action News, the collision happened at the Longfellow Boulevard and North Crystal Lake Drive junction. When the driver of a 2016 Dodge Durango failed to stop, he then crashed into a home and struck the 24-year-old man.
Medics pursued CPR on the 24-year-old man. However, despite their best efforts, he suffered fatal injuries.
The Dodge Driver – 27-year-old Alexander Dalton Collins – was unharmed. The Dodge passenger and two other people inside the home were also spared from harm.
Lakeland Police have not indicated if Collins will be cited or charged.
