Driver fatally hits horse in Lee County

LEE COUNTY, FL – A horse’s life was claimed after it was struck by the driver of a white Ford Escape at SR 31 and Lucky Road Saturday.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office told NBC-2 that they declared the horse dead at the scene. No other vehicles or people were involved. The horse was removed by its owner.
