Driver fatally hits male pedestrian on W. Gandy Blvd. in Tampa
TAMPA, FL – A man crossing the 5100 block of West Gandy Boulevard lost his life after he was hit by a person operating a black 2009 Honda Civic Saturday.
This crash happened before 1:15 a.m. when the pedestrian, prior to walking, had gotten out of his vehicle for reasons unclear. As he tried to cross, he was struck, ABC Action News reported.
Upon arrival, first responders conducted life-saving measures on the victim. However, he had succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene.
Police confirmed the motorist was not impaired and remained at the scene. They have made no indications of citations or charges.
Officials shut down West Grady and reopened all lanes a little after 5:30 a.m.
