Driver flown to trauma center after crash off NW 27th Ave in Opa-locka
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL – One person was seriously hurt Tuesday morning when an SUV collided with a tree off Northwest 27th Avenue in Opa-locka, reports Local 10.
Medics with Miami-Dade Fire Rescue were dispatched to the scene in the 14900 block of the road. By 10:30 a.m., when a Sky 10 helicopter flew over the area, emergency responders were already working the site, where the car appeared to have run off the roadway and struck the tree.
Following the event, the driver of the SUV was transported by airlift to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center.
No other major injuries were reported.
Miami-Dade Police were at the crash site re-routing traffic around the area.
Officials have not indicated any pending charges or citations at this time.
