Driver killed after fleeing from police, crashing into Florida City home
FLORIDA CITY, FL – A woman was injured, and a driver was left dead after he attempted to flee from police and crashed into a wall of a home Thursday afternoon.
WSVN said this collision happened in the area of Southwest 336th Street and 180th Avenue near the River Oaks townhomes. Prior to the crash, a Miami Dade Officer had, for reasons unclear, spoken to a man hitting a woman in a parking lot. Then he fled from the scene in his car. Another officer tried to stop him, and he made a U-turn, lost control of his vehicle, and his vehicle rolled over several times before he crashed into the wall.
The man was declared dead at the scene. Not too far from the crash site, a handgun was found, and a large dent in the home’s wall was seen.
