Driver of stolen car crashes into tree in North Miami amid pursuit
NORTH MIAMI, FL – A person who was alleged to have stolen a 2019 Hyundai Elantra was fleeing from police and then crashed into a tree Wednesday.
The pursuit started in Miami Shores, in the area of Northeast 111th Street and 2nd Avenue. Local 10 confirmed the collision happened adjacent to Northeast Second Avenue and 133rd Street. The two suspects tried to flee but were taken into custody.
Miami-Dade Police speculate that two other suspects in the vehicle — two women — were in the car but then escaped prior to the collision.
