Driver runs red light, fatally hits motorcyclist in Dover
DOVER, FL – A 42-year-old man riding a Harley-Davidson was taken to a hospital, where he died after he was struck by a driver who ran a red light Thursday.
WFLA said this collision happened before 1:45 p.m. when the Hyundai Sonata driver, a 28-year-old man going east on FL-60, proceeded through the red light and struck the motorcyclist as he made a turn at Dover Road.
Florida Highway Patrol confirmed the motorcyclist had the right of way as he turned on a green light.
Troopers have not provided additional information about Thursday’s wreck, including whether the Hyundai driver will be cited or charged for his involvement in this collision.
