Driver runs red light, fatally hits motorcyclist in Miami
MIAMI, FL – Police suspect a driver ran a red light moments before their vehicle fatally collided with a motorcyclist Friday.
This collision happened before 2 a.m. near Southwest 2nd Avenue and Southwest 7th Street, according to NBC Miami. Shortly after their arrival at the scene, police declared the motorcycle operator deceased.
Officials confirmed the motorcyclist was a man but have not released his name at this time.
While it is unclear whether the driver of the car was harmed, authorities noted that the vehicle was left without a wheel and sustained damage in this collision.
At the time of NBC Miami’s initial report, investigators had not reported any charges or citations.
