DUI driver fatally runs over female pedestrian in Orlando
ORLANDO, FL – A 26-year-old woman driving a Lexus IS sedan was arrested for DUI after running over a female pedestrian, which claimed the walker’s life Sunday.
This collision took place around 4 a.m. South Orange Blossom Trail, south of Skyview Drive, in the Sky Lake area, according to WESH.
Florida Highway Patrol, who is taking the lead on this investigation, said the pedestrian was walking from the eastbound to the westbound lanes when the collision took place. Immediately after the crash, ambulance personnel took the walker to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where she died. Troopers have not disclosed the walker’s identity but have since identified the motorist as Alyssa Winters, an Orlando local.
