Elderly woman killed after being accidentally run over in Pt. Richey
PORT RICHEY, FL – An 86-year-old woman died on Monday after she was unintentionally hit by her 87-year-old sister’s car in the 8700 block of Elm Leaf Court.
Florida Highway Patrol told WFLA that the events unfolded around 4:30 p.m. when the 87-year-old woman had put her car in drive, instead of in park as she was dropping off her sister at her home. As a result, she unintentionally hit her sister in front of the mailbox, and then struck a stationary vehicle as well as a tree.
Troopers said the 86-year-old woman had succumbed to fatal wounds at the scene.
