Fatal multi-vehicle crash caused by driver who failed to reduce speed
CELEBRATION, FL – A driver failed to reduce their speed, resulting in a five-vehicle collision on I-4 that led two vehicles to catch fire and claimed the life of one person Tuesday.
WESH 2 said the first driver, who did not slow down, struck a motorcyclist and continued down the interstate. The first driver then struck a third vehicle. The motorist of the third automobile then crashed into two other vehicles when they were hit by the first driver.
The motorcycle and one vehicle caught fire. The motorcyclist was rushed to Orlando Health Reunion Village and later declared dead. Three other occupants were sent to Celebration Hospital, and five others — a driver and passengers — were unharmed and remained at the scene.
