Female driver, 90, rams into 2 Port Charlotte homes
PORT CHARLOTTE, FL – A 90-year-old woman mistook the accelerator of her white SUV for the brake, which ultimately caused her to crash into two homes, an eyewitness told local police Monday.
This single-vehicle collision happened in the 18299 block of Courtland Avenue, according to NBC-2. The female driver “scraped” the first home before driving into the second home, which was unoccupied.
A building inspector was summoned to the crash site but did not publicly confirm whether the integrity of the homes was compromised.
Despite the damages to the residences, the woman and all home occupants escaped injuries.
