Female pedestrian killed in St. Petersburg hit-and-run crash
ST. PETERSBURG, FL – A woman was crossing the street in the Child’s Park district when she was fatally struck by a car Saturday morning.
The collision occurred around 2:15 a.m. at the intersection of 15th Avenue South and 34th Street South, WTSP reported. St. Petersburg Police, the driver of a blue 2006 Lexus RX330 was traveling north and then hit the pedestrian, who was later identified as 28-year-old Cassandra Gelineau.
Gelineau died at the scene.
The driver did not render aid or notify authorities and immediately fled the scene.
St. Petersburg Police said they located the vehicle but have yet to find the suspect.
An investigation was started. No further information is available.
