FHP confirms 2nd fatality in SUV, physical therapy wreck in Immokalee
IMMOKALEE, FL – Florida Highway Patrol confirmed a second person succumbed to fatal wounds after a red SUV crashed into a physical therapy building last Friday.
New details from WINK News indicated that the SUV plowed into the Physical Therapy Center establishment, located at 212 South First Street, after colliding with two other vehicles. More footage showed the front-end of the SUV inserted in the building and a baby seat next to the “ground by the rear tire.”
FHP doesn’t publicly release the names of people who died in car accidents or other personal injury-related events but confirmed that the two people who died were a 13-year-old teenager and a 20-year-old adult.
Additional information revealed that the SUV driver, later identified as 24-year-old Walner Nelson from Immokalee, was impaired when he crashed into the building.
Nelson was said to have been booked into the Collier County Jail and arrested and charged with “two counts of DUI manslaughter, two counts of vehicular manslaughter,” and other criminal charges.
