Fiery crash in Marion Co. kills 2, injures 1
MARION COUNTY, FL – Two people are dead and another is injured following a fiery, two-vehicle crash in Ocala yesterday night.
WESH reports that an SUV and an unspecified automobile collided somewhere along Southeast 36th Avenue at about 8:30 p.m. on February 20. The collision caused one of the car’s occupants to be ejected from the vehicle, which subsequently burst into flames.
Both occupants of the car perished in the collision.
Emergency responders transported the SUV’s seriously injured driver to an area hospital. That person’s current condition is unknown.
Police remained at the scene for 11 hours and are still investigating the cause of the accident.
