Fiery tractor-trailer crash in Miami claims driver’s life
MIAMI, FL – A tractor-trailer driver lost their life after crashing into a guardrail and then into two structural pillars on I-75 South, which caused it to catch fire Thursday.
This collision happened after 5 p.m., according to Local 10. Florida Highway Patrol, who responded to the scene, confirmed the driver was unable to escape. Troopers closed all southbound lanes and temporarily redirected drivers to Florida’s Turnpike.
FDOT transportation crews were also called to the scene to pinpoint whether the bridge’s structural integrity was compromised. They did not confirm if that was the case.
Updates will be added should more information surface.
