Fleeing driver strikes parked cars, officers in NW Miami
NORTHWEST MIAMI, FL – A driver of a black car crashed into two parked cars and hit two Miami Police officers after fleeing from an attempted traffic stop Tuesday.
CBS News confirmed police attempted the stop after 8 a.m. The pursuit ended in the area of Northeast 2nd Ave. and NE 71 St, and the motorist of the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and at least one other passenger then got out of the vehicle and fled the scene on foot.
After they fled, officials set up a perimeter between Northeast Third Avenue adjacent to 71st to 73rd Street. They have not found the suspects as of now, and the officers who were struck were unharmed.
It is not immediately clear why the traffic stop was initiated in the first place.
