Freeway sign hits car, leading to deadly wreck in Tampa
TAMPA, FL – A 23-year-old man, who was traveling inside a moving car on I-4, succumbed to fatal wounds after a freeway sign fell on the vehicle, which resulted in a crash Thursday.
This collision happened before 8 p.m. at mile marker 1 near 21st Street amid Hurricane Helene, which was listed as a category 4, according to WTSP.
Florida Highway Patrol, who were among the first responders, said the driver, a 61-year-old man, and two passengers, a 44-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man, were all spared from physical harm.
