Girl, 17, killed in Tarpon Springs hit-and-run crash
TARPON SPRINGS, FL – A hit-and-run crash claimed a pedestrian’s life on U.S. Highway 19 Tuesday.
According to FOX 13 News, a northbound pickup truck driver struck a pedestrian, a 17-year-old girl from Pompano Beach, as she walked across the highway.
The driver fled the scene and has not been located. Officials said they believe it was a 2014 to 2017 silver Toyota Tundra responsible for the collision.
The girl succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
