Head-on crash in Tampa injures 2
TAMPA, FL – A Lexus IS motorist drove the wrong way, colliding head-on with a Chevrolet Colorado, injuring himself and the other driver Sunday.
This collision occurred before 3:45 a.m. on I-75 North, according to a WFLA report. The impact of the crash led the Chevrolet to catch on fire, and the Lexus motorist then struck a third vehicle — a Hyundai Santa Fe.
The Hyundai motorist — a 36-year-old woman from Zephyrhills — was unharmed. The Chevrolet driver, a 37-year-old man, and a 21-year-old (both Wesley Chapel residents) suffered serious wounds. It is unclear if they were sent to the hospital, and there have been no mentions of pending charges.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office speculated that the Lexus driver could have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol. However, this detail has yet to be confirmed.
Updates will be provided as more information comes to light.
