Head-on wreck in Orange Co. claims life of 21-year-old man
ORANGE COUNTY, FL – A 21-year-old man operating a 2016 Nissan Sentra drove east on the westbound ramp of Sand Lake Road and crashed head-on with another vehicle, resulting in his death.
This wrong-way collision happened after 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to Click Orlando. A Florida Highway Patrol saw the incident unfold, even using their siren lights to warn the 21-year-old man. However, despite the attempt, the man collided head-on with the 2011 Jeep Wrangler.
Troopers declared the 21-year-old man (an Orlando resident) dead at the scene and said first responders took the Jeep driver — a 53-year-old woman, also from Orlando — to Orlando Regional Medical Center for treatment of severe, non-life-threatening wounds.
