Hit-and-run driver fails to yield, fatally hits motorcyclist in Apopka
APOPKA, FL – A motorcyclist had suffered fatal wounds after he was struck by a hit-and-run driver who failed to yield to oncoming traffic when turning left Tuesday.
This collision was reported after 10 p.m. at the Apopka Boulevard and Tilden Avenue junction, according to Click Orlando. When the driver made contact with the motorcycle, the motorcyclist — an 18-year-old man from Apopka (whose name has not been released) — lost control of his bike, drifted off the road, and fell.
The driver did not render aid and continued on westbound Tilden Avenue and was not seen by any eyewitnesses, so it is unclear what they and their vehicle looked like.
Upon arrival, first responders took the motorcyclist to AdventHealth Apopka, where he later died from his injuries.
Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the circumstances of this collision. They urge the public to come forward with any information regarding the suspect, their vehicle, their whereabouts, or who can provide more details about this deadly crash.
