Hit-and-run driver rams into, damages fence in North Fort Myers
NORTH FORT MYERS, FL – A driver of a black truck crashed into a chain link fence on Pine Island Road located at Soft Wash Depot before driving off Monday.
This crash happened around 9 p.m., and eyewitnesses told authorities that the hit-and-run driver was impaired, according to an NBC-2 report. Before taking off, the driver tried to remove the fence attached to his vehicle and the wires wrapped around it. He came out of the passenger side door before fleeing.
Broken taillights and tire tracks were seen at the collision site, and the owner claimed the suspect cost him $12,000 in property damage.
Authorities have yet to locate the suspect.
