Hit-and-run rear-end wreck in Jacksonville claims life of teen
JACKSONVILLE, FL – A 15-year-old teenager passed away at Wolfson’s Hospital after his black Toyota Tacoma was rear-ended by a hit-and-run vehicle.
First Coast News says the incident happened on I-95 South after 9 p.m. When the two vehicles made contact, the hit-and-run vehicle, a white Honda Civic, overturned.
Immediately after the rollover impact, the Civic driver fled the area.
Emergency crews have not found or apprehended the hit-and-run suspect at this time.
First responders who were summoned to the scene and responded said the passenger of the black pickup truck, a 16-year-old teenager, was unharmed. Crews shut down the left southbound lane.
