I-95 wreck in Jacksonville puts man in critical condition
JACKSONVILLE, FL – A man is at a hospital recovering from critical wounds after getting hit by a dark gray GMC SUV on I-95 Sunday.
The events unfolded before 8 p.m. when the man, for reasons unclear, was standing on the interstate’s northbound lanes when he was run over by the car, News4Jax reports. The impact had also injured the driver, a 40-year-old man from Winter Springs.
The Winter Springs man is currently recovering from minor injuries.
Florida Highway Patrol started an investigation, confirming that the driver was not intoxicated and wore a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Crews also shut down two northbound lanes to accommodate the scene clearance and investigation process.
The area has cleared and reopened.
