Jeep fatally hits female cyclist in St. Pete
ST. PETERSBURG, FL – A Jeep driver, who was suspected of impairment, was turning left and hit a woman riding a bicycle, which led to her death Tuesday.
WFLA said this collision happened at the 54th Avenue South and 31st Street South intersection. After arriving, first responders rushed the cyclist to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital, where she later passed away.
Authorities have identified the victim as Haylee Concepcion, 25, a St. Petersburg resident.
St. Petersburg Police arrested the Jeep driver, 66-year-old Richard Wilson, for DUI. They started an investigation and have not released other information at this time.
