MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL – A man from Louisville, Kentucky, who is a person of interest, fled from Miami-Dade police and then crashed into six vehicles in the Westview area Monday.

An anonymous tip said they called police and spotted the suspect — 45-year-old Alian Garcia Perez — a man who is a person of interest in a homicide. When authorities saw him and tried to conduct a traffic stop, Perez declined to stop and drove away, initiating the pursuit.
When Perez struck one of the six vehicles, his red coupe overturned, trapping him inside. Authorities extricated him and then flew him via a medical helicopter to Ryder Trauma Center, where he is listed in stable condition.
Once Perez is discharged from the hospital, he will be sent back to Kentucky.
At least one person from among the struck vehicles sustained some injury.
