Kissimmee home catches fire following crash
KISSIMMEE, FL – A suspected medical episode caused a 38-year-old man to crash his SUV into a Kissimmee home around 6 p.m. Thursday.
According to Click Orlando, the collision took place on the 2980 block of Camino Real Drive. Florida Highway Patrol said the driver was traveling south on Marbella Drive when he lost control of the vehicle.
The driver drifted off the road and hit a mailbox. The impact caused the mailbox to fly into two other vehicles. The SUV continued off the roadway and drove into a home.
The SUV caught fire, destroying a large portion of the house.
There were eight people inside the home at the time of the collision. No serious injuries were reported, but medics transported one of the occupants – an unidentified 65-year-old woman – to a hospital for medical evaluation.
The SUV driver suffered serious injuries and is in stable condition.
