Left-turn attempt leads to deadly crash in Jacksonville
JACKSONVILLE, FL – A 40-year-old woman driving an SUV lost her life when she was struck by another SUV trying to turn left into a parking lot Monday.
This crash took place before 5:45 a.m. along eastbound Normandy Boulevard and Yellow Water Road, according to First Coast News. The impact caused the turning SUV to hit the driver’s side of the SUV driven by the 40-year-old woman. The 40-year-old woman’s SUV moved in a counterclockwise motion, went into an eastbound lane, and then collided with a pickup truck.
The pickup truck then hit the side of the 40-year-old woman’s SUV.
The 40-year-old woman, an Orange Park resident, succumbed to fatal wounds at the scene.
Florida Highway Patrol did not say if the driver of the turning SUV, a 41-year-old Jacksonville woman, and the pickup truck driver, a 49-year-old Middleburg man, were injured.
