LYNX bus involved in multi-vehicle wreck on I-4 in SW Orlando
ORANGE COUNTY, FL – Authorities were called to a multi-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon in southwest Orlando that left one person injured, reports Click Orlando.
The wreck occurred on the westbound lanes near the exit to State Road 535, causing traffic in the area to become backed up to Universal Orlando.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a LYNX bus was heading westbound in the center outside lane of I-4 while three other vehicles–a Jeep Wagoneer, a GMC Sierra, and a Kia Forte–were stopped in the interstate’s outside lane, ahead of the oncoming bus.
While the LYNX driver made an effort to avoid the Jeep, the bus’ front-end collided with the rear of the SUV, which caused the Jeep’s front-end to hit the back of the Sierra. The front of the pickup truck then hit the back of the Forte.
First responders transported a passenger from the Jeep to Dr. Phillips Hospital for injuries deemed non-life-threatening.
A section of the westbound interstate was shut down as crews processed the scene.
