Male driver, 38, loses life in Jacksonville truck rollover wreck

JACKSONVILLE, FL – A 38-year-old man passed away after his truck overturned in the area of New World Avenue and State Road 23 on Saturday. 

Florida Highway Patrol told Action News Jax that the collision started unfolding when the man, the driver and sole occupant, lost control of his white Mac Truck on the State Road 23 on-ramp. 

The man did not wear a seatbelt and succumbed to fatal wounds at the scene. 

Troopers, other crews, and first responders were in the area for many hours for scene clearance and clean-up. 

All lanes have reopened since.
