Male pedestrian, 58, loses life following St. Pete crash
ST. PETERSBURG, FL – A 58-year-old man tried to cross the street and was hit by a Nissan driver, leading him to suffer fatal wounds Wednesday.
WTSP said this collision happened after 10:30 p.m. on Gandy Boulevard East. Following the incident, the Nissan driver, a 23-year-old woman from Seminole, got out of her car and tried to help the male pedestrian. A short time later, the Seminole woman’s vehicle was hit by a car driven by a 23-year-old Tampa woman.
While the Tampa resident was unharmed, the Seminole woman and the male pedestrian were sent to a hospital, where the woman was treated for non-life-threatening wounds and the man succumbed to his injuries.
Officials shut down Gandy Boulevard East to accommodate the scene clearance and investigation process.
