Male pedestrian in mid 50s dies after crash near Tampa Int. Airport
TAMPA, FL – A Hispanic man in his mid-50s was taken to a local hospital, where he passed away after he was hit by a pickup truck near the Tampa International Airport Monday.
This collision happened before 7 a.m. in the area of West Hillsborough Avenue and North Lois Avenue east of the airport, according to WFLA.
Tampa Police said the crash happened when the walker, whose name was not mentioned, had crossed the intersection without staying on the marked crosswalk when he was hit by a white Ford F350.
The driver stayed at the collision site and cooperated with investigators.
Police shut down the intersection and have reopened it since.
