Man, 18, dead after SUV, pickup truck crash in Fort Myers

FORT MYERS, FL – A crash between an SUV and a pickup truck claimed an 18-year-old man’s life Tuesday.

The collision happened before 5 a.m. in the area of Alico Road and Gator Road, the News-Press reported.

The driver of the eastbound SUV and the driver of the westbound pickup truck approached Gator Road simultaneously. The SUV driver turned left in front of the pickup truck and crashed into the pickup truck.

The pickup truck driver sustained minor injuries.

All occupants were transported to Gulf Coast Medical Center. There the SUV passenger, the 18-year-old man, succumbed to fatal injuries. The SUV driver was seriously hurt.
