Man, 24, in fiery auto wreck in South Fort Myers
SOUTH FORT MYERS, FL – A 24-year-old man died after he lost control of his car, leading him to crash into a sign and two trees, prior to the vehicle catching fire Monday.
This collision happened after 2 a.m. on Ben Hill Griffin Parkway.
NBC 2 said the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and Florida Highway Patrol were both summoned to the scene. They partially closed the southbound lanes and completely closed the northbound lanes.
Deputies have not released the man’s name, only indicating he was a man from Lake Whales.
