Man, 58, killed in motorcycle-car crash in Cape Coral
CAPE CORAL, FL – A man’s life was claimed in a crash between a motorcycle and car on Old Burnt Store Road Thursday.
A driver of a southbound Hyundai Kona approached SW 1st St. and waited to make a left turn. As she turned, she collided with a motorcycle, NBC-2 reported.
The motorcyclist broke and skidded and tried to go to the right to avoid colliding with her. Both drivers, however, crashed into each other. As a result, the motorcyclist was ejected from his vehicle, and the motorcycle rolled over.
The unidentified Kona driver, a 72-year-old woman from Cape Coral, was hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries.
The motorcyclist, 58-year-old Ion Dumitru, succumbed to fatal injuries, despite CPR measures that were taken.
It is unclear if the woman will face charges.
