Man, 58, loses life in St. Pete left-turn crash
ST. PETERSBURG, FL – A 58-year-old male passenger inside a Ford F150 lost his life after his driver made a left turn and collided with a Ford Mustang, leading the truck to overturn.
This collision occurred around 10 a.m. Monday along the RaceWay gas station, according to WTSP. Florida Highway Patrol revealed in a report that the Ford F-150 driver, a 43-year-old man from St. Petersburg, was going east on Gandy Boulevard when he made that turn in front of the Mustang going west.
After the vehicles collided, the truck landed on its roof, eventually coming to rest along the road. Florida Highway Patrol indicated the 58-year-old man, also from St. Petersburg, succumbed to fatal wounds at the scene.
Additional information from ABC Action News confirmed that the 43-year-old man and the Ford Mustang driver, an 18-year-old man from Brandon, were both unharmed.
Troopers closed the westbound lanes during the investigation and scene clearance process and reopened all lanes an hour later.
