Man, 83, killed in Lehigh Acres hit-and-run crash
LEHIGH ACRES, FL – One was critically injured, and one was killed in a crash on Lee Boulevard after 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
In a report from NBC-2, a cyclist, an 83-year-old man, was getting ready to cross the eastbound lanes, and at the same time, a motorcyclist, a 24-year-old man, was also traveling east on Lee Boulevard. For reasons unclear, the motorcycle collided with the bike.
The impact caused the bicyclist and the motorcyclist to come to rest. Then a driver of a copper Kia Sportage hit the cyclist and immediately fled the scene.
The cyclist succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The motorcyclist was sent to a hospital in critical condition.
