Man, 84, dies in Jacksonville underride crash
JACKSONVILLE, FL – One life was claimed in a crash between a car and semi-truck on U.S. 1 Tuesday.
The collision occurred before 6:30 a.m., as shown in a report from News 4 Jax. A driver attempted to cross the freeway median to turn left onto U.S. 1 when he collided with a semi-truck.
As a result, the driver, an unidentified 84-year-old man, drove under the side of the semi, and the impact led him to succumb to fatal injuries.
The semi-truck driver was spared from harm; both drivers wore seatbelts.
