Motorcycle, patrol car wreck in Wimauma claims man’s life
WIMAUMA, FL – A motorcyclist collided with a marked Hillsborough County Sheriff’s vehicle, leading him to succumb to fatal wounds Saturday.
ABC Action News said the collision was brought on when a deputy initiated a traffic stop after 10 p.m. in the area of U.S. Highway 301 and Ayersworth Glen Boulevard. For reasons unclear, the motorcyclist lost control of his bike, resulting in a crash with the patrol car.
Hillsborough County fire crews, and the deputy (whose vehicle was struck and who was unharmed) conducted life-saving measures on the motorcyclist. However, despite best efforts from them, the motorcyclist died at the scene.
Florida Highway Patrol started an investigation and has not released other details.
