Motorcyclist fatally struck by pickup truck in Fort Myers

FORT MYERS, FL – One was critically injured, and another person’s life was claimed in a vehicle wreck after 8 p.m. Sunday.

The collision happened on northbound San Carlos Boulevard near Heidi Lee Lane, NBC-2 revealed. Officials said a driver of a Ford pickup truck, a 23-year-old man, was slowing down to turn right onto Heidi Lee Lane when the motorcyclist tried to pass the vehicle. The attempt was unsuccessful, and the driver and motorcyclist both collided.

It is unclear if the driver was hurt; however, the motorcyclist, a 43-year-old man, succumbed to fatal injuries.

Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the surrounding details regarding Sunday’s fatal collision.
