Motorcyclist hospitalized after crash with semi in South Fort Myers
SOUTH FORT MYERS, FL – A motorcyclist had to go to the hospital for treatment of serious wounds upon colliding with a semi-truck on I-75 North Friday.
NBC-2 said this crash occurred before 3:30 p.m. near Alico Road. Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene and said the semi-truck itself was not damaged, and the driver escaped any injuries.
FHP initially blocked all northbound lanes but has recently lifted all lane closures. Despite the reopenings, drivers approaching the area should proceed with caution and anticipate any lingering delays that can be seen toward North Naples.
Troopers launched an investigation but have not provided additional commentary surrounding the events leading up to this wreck or said if the semi-driver will face charges.
When new developments surface, then updates will be provided.
