Motorcyclist killed after driver attempts U-turn at Oldsmar junction
OLDSMAR, FL – A 73-year-old man driving a 2006 gold Cadillac turned to make a U-turn and collided with a motorcycle, resulting in the motorcyclist’s death Sunday.
This collision happened before 9:45 a.m. at the Tampa Road and Oak Leaf Boulevard junction. WFLA said the motorcyclist, operating a 2012 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle, was going east on Tampa Road while the driver was going west on Tampa. Since the driver was directly in front of the bike, the motorcyclist could not stop in time, leading to the crash. The motorcyclist, a 20-year-old man, was taken to a hospital, where he later died, while the Cadillac driver was unharmed.
Officials do not have more information regarding the events of this crash but did confirm that intoxication and speed did not play roles in this collision.
