Multi-vehicle crash reported after driver tries to pass I-275 traffic
TAMPA, FL – An SUV driver tried to pass traffic on I-275 South by driving on the shoulder, leading to a six-vehicle collision before 8 a.m. Monday.
WTSP said the SUV caught on fire after striking some vehicles. Officials said a driver sustained injuries but did not specify if it was the SUV driver or another motorist. Drivers in the area were asked to take alternative routes.
Several lanes were closed temporarily and reopened around 9:40 a.m.
