Multi-vehicle wreck at NE Tampa intersection claims 1 life, leaves 3 injured
TAMPA, FL – A woman in her 20s died Friday morning, January 3, as a result of a multi-vehicle crash in northeast Tampa’s Terrace Park neighborhood, according to News Channel 8.
Tampa Police said the incident took place at the corner of East Bougainvillea Avenue and McKinley Drive.
A preliminary investigation indicates the young woman was driving a Kia Sorrento when a Dodge Ram collided with the car as she was trying to make a turn at the intersection.
First responders pronounced the driver of the Kia Sorrento deceased at the scene.
Two people from the Ram were transported to an area hospital for injuries deemed non-life-threatening.
Officials said a third driver crashed his vehicle into a nearby wooded area while trying to avoid the initial crash. He also suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital.
While debris from the first wreck struck a woman in a fourth vehicle, the TPD indicated that she was not injured.
An investigation remains in progress.
