NFL Player Tragically Loses Father in Florida Car Accident

A local connection to a player in the NFL recently made national headlines for a tragic reason. The Miami-Dade Police Department recently announced that Captain Tyrone White was killed in an off-duty car accident. In addition to being a local leader in law enforcement, Captain White was the father of NFL running back James White of the New England Patriots. Sadly, he was pronounced dead on the scene of the two-car crash in Cooper City where deputies reportedly found one car flipped over and the other on fire. His wife Lisa was airlifted to the hospital, along with an unnamed third person, where she remains hospitalized. Broward County Sheriff’s Office traffic homicide detectives are still investigating the crash, the cause of which has not yet been released to the public.

  • Record the names and contact information of any eyewitnesses. You should also make a point of writing a note for yourself as soon as time allows with details such as what the person is wearing and what he or she witnessed.
