Officer hurt after Liberty Square hit-and-run prompts second crash

MIAMI, FL – A City of Miami police officer sustained minor injuries after a hit-and-run led to another crash in Liberty Square Sunday.

The collision took place before 11:30 a.m. in the area of Northwest 58th Street and Northwest 17th Avenue. According to WSVN, the victim of a hit-and-run crash was chasing the driver responsible for the hit-and-run. The driver who allegedly caused the hit-and-run then collided with a Miami police cruiser.

Medics took the officer to the hospital for treatment.

Officials have not indicated pending charges regarding the hit-and-run or released other details regarding this collision.
